Kentucky Log a Load for Kids Committee and the KFIA Board has made October our big fund raising month to encourage all members to get involved by donating directly to Log a Load for Kids, conducting a fund raising activity or donating the value of some logs, chips or other products to support our children.
Every penny that is raised through the Kentucky Log a Load for Kids goes directly to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY. We have fully funded the $200,000 renovated Kentucky Forest Industries Association Child Life Play Area for the kids. In late 2019 the committee met with the Kentucky Children’s Hospital to discuss future funding needs. A request for $25,000 was presented to provide MRI safety goggles for pediatric patients and to help reduce the need to sedate children for the long MRI procedure. These goggles provide block all noises and provide virtual entertainment. Because of the support from our members we were able to present them with the funds requested.
2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and we want to thank our Log a Load for Kids supporters, but we have fallen short of our yearly goal of $25,000. If you are interested in donating please contact the KFIA office or visit www.kfia.org and click on the Log a Load page for more information.
