Self-Insurance Fund
Houchens Insurance Group (formerly Van Meter Insurance) work closely with the KFIA to assist members with a wide range of insurance needs. Houchens has the ability to work with member companies on all types of insurance needs including the ability to write worker’s compensation coverage through the Forest Industry Workers’ Compensation Fund (FIWCF).
The FIWCF has rates that are very competitive in the market place. The fund is self-insured and is operated by a separate Board of Directors made up of companies in the fund. While Truist (formerly BB&T) does not have access to the Forestry Fund they do have other workers’ compensation options for the membership as well as all other lines of insurance.
