New Health Insurance Program

NEW HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM

A series of informational meetings have just been completed to inform and educate our members about a new health insurance program now available.

In connection with Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM), we have entered into an agreement that allows KFIA Members the opportunity to participate in KAMs association health benefit program.  The program has been in existence for over 20 years and has grown and matured into one of the most competitive health insurance programs in Kentucky.  The program is    administered by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kentucky and is marketed through BB&T Insurance Services of Kentucky.

KFIA has had several meetings discussing and negotiating on your behalf for this program.  We have seen the program          offerings and discussed how the costs will benefit you, both on a short term and long term basis.  Even if you already have coverage through Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, there are benefits in services and costs through this program.  Program benefits include:

"   Discounted premiums

"   Dedicated association sales & service staff

"   Members are combined for leverage on administrative costs

"   Members are combined for aggregating claims with a large-

pool (versus individual and insurance company pools)

"   Stabilization of rates and premiums

"   Service assistance for billing and claims issues

"   COBRA Services provided to all BB&T Clients

"   Access to Human Resource professionals for issues such as COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and HIPAA compliance

"   Assistance with open enrollment meetings and employee communication materials

     Requirements to participate:

-     Must become a member of KAM A reduced membership rate of $300 is available for KFIA members.  NOTE: The membership rate for loggers is $175.

-     Minimum participation: the greater of 75% of Net Eligible Employees or 50% of all eligible employees.  (Net Eligible Employees is the total number of eligible employees less those employees with other group health coverage through a spouse or as part of a collectively bargained or union plan.)
