The 2007 Kentucky Wood Expo is set for September 21 & 22 at the Laurel/London Optimist Sports Complex in London, KY. The show will feature equipment and products from leading industry suppliers from around the United States and Canada. In addition to a variety of forestry related exhibits, both days are filled with activities for every member of the family.
Kentucky Wood Expo exhibitors want to see you at the show! Make your plans now to attend. Advance tickets are on sale and are available by calling the KFIA office. Advance tickets can be purchased for $3 in advance. Tickets purchased at the gate will be $5. We encourage member companies to purchase tickets for their employees and customers to attend the show. There is no better way to educate your employees and customers about the direct benefit and impact of the forest industry in Kentucky than the Kentucky Wood Expo. There are also a number of contests that are open to people in the wood industry from lumberjack to skidder and knuckleboom operation.
We are also asking companies to sponsor tickets for the area school children to attend the show on Friday. Each year, the show hosts about 1200 students from surrounding counties. The students visit various stations that have an activity related to the forest industry and receive information about positive forest management and why it is important to Kentucky and the United States. We have received many positive comments from students and teachers over the years. Sponsoring tickets for students to attend the show is a small way your company can help to combat the negative information many people receive from the media and smear tactics from environmental groups. Getting kids to the show and let them see first hand what our industry is all about does make a difference.
Free food and door prizes!- KFIA Members and exhibitors are invited to attend a barbecue dinner on Friday evening at the expo grounds starting at 6:00 p.m. Member companies and exhibitors will receive two complimentary tickets for the dinner and additional tickets can be purchased for $5.00 each. Somerset Wood Products and the Kentucky Wood Expo are sponsoring the event. This will be a great time of fellowship with industry family and friends. Registration is not required to attend the dinner but is encouraged. Even if you only plan to use your complimentary tickets, please call the office at 502/695-3979. Tickets will not be mailed automatically. Please call and request them.
