2020 KFIA Annual Meeting

IT'S HAPPENING - KFIA ANNUAL MEETING
“Growing Kentucky Forest, Supplying the World”
(Click on picture to download registration form)

We are moving forward with our meeting.  KFIA staff has been in direct communication with Louisville Convention and Tourism and the Brown Hotel to discuss how to proceed with our August 25-27 dates.  A COVID-19 plan will be in place to ensure the safety of our members and guests both from KFIA and the Brown Hotel.

We are aware of many conferences being cancelled around the same time as our meeting and the rising concerns of what the next few months will look like.  We are confident we can have a successful meeting and still abide by the COVID-19 restrictions.  Some precautions will be instituted by the Brown Hotel and KFIA staff to ensure proper social distancing is practiced.

We hope you will join us at the KFIA 55th Annual Meeting and find out what is happening not only in Kentucky but around the country.  The past few months have brought on unprecedented changes for everyone but there are some positive things happening that will help the wood industry be even stronger as the economy recovers.  We have some excellent speakers lined up to discuss the current issues related to export markets, new product demand and exciting news about market developments.   In addition to the expert speakers in each field, the program is full of activities and provides excellent opportunities for networking and meeting with exhibitors.

If you have sent in your meeting registration, sponsorship or signed up for the golf outing for the April dates, we want you to know you don’t have to do anything if you still plan on attending.  The hotel has transferred your reservations to the corresponding days in August.  You will need to contact the Brown Hotel (502-583-1234) if you need to cancel your room or make changes to the number of nights that you have reserved.

For everyone that has registered for the meeting as an attendee or Exhibitor you will remain registered for the meeting.  The golf outing is also scheduled for the Polo Fields Golf and Country Club for August 25.  If you need to change the attendees or cancel your registration for the meeting or golf due to a conflict please contact the KFIA office.

We appreciate the support of our members during these tough times and know that our industry will come through everything as strong as ever.  The good news is that if you put off registering for the meeting now you have plenty of time to get registered and if there was a conflict with the April date now you can make it in August.  The Brown Hotel still has rooms available for the new dates but we strongly urge everyone to make any new hotel reservations as soon as possible because it will be a busy time in Louisville.   Keep in mind that they have moved the Kentucky Derby to Sept. 5 and all of the Derby festivities will begin on August 15 meaning hotel rooms will be very limited.  There are still rooms available at the Brown under our contract price of $ 146.00 per night and includes parking.  Once we reach our room limit additional rooms are not guaranteed. ALL NEW RESERVATIONS ARE MADE BY CALLING THE BROWN HOTEL DIRECTLY AT 502/583-1234.
